June 8th Swim Meet Volunteer Information
Good morning, Hammerheads!
Our first meet is just one week away on Monday June 8th. Please RSVP your swimmer if they plan to participate and check the website for remaining volunteer openings. We still need a few Place Judges and Wranglers.
For new families, please review the attached materials:
- Wrangler Cheat Sheet
- Volunteer Role Descriptions
- Meet Setup Map
Volunteer Reminders
Set-Up Crew & Tents (3:45–4:00 PM)
Please begin by laying out the tarps in the grassy area so swimmers have a place to gather when they arrive. See the attached setup map for additional tasks.
Timers, Judges & Second-Shift Deck Volunteers
Please attend the deck meeting at 5:45 PM if possible. Shifts will switch after the backstroke events. Check the heat sheet for the approximate event number when backstroke concludes.
Concessions Volunteers
Check in at the volunteer table, then report to concessions. Please bring a cooler with a few bags of ice if possible:)
General Volunteers
Please check in regularly with the Volunteer Coordinator and be available to assist where needed.
Wranglers
Check in with the Volunteer Coordinator by 4:45 PM and pick up supplies. See cheat sheet for how to mark up swimmers as they arrive. (Parents feel free to do this at home before your swimmer arrives)
Wrangler responsibilities include:
- Labeling all swimmers in your assigned age group
- Lining up swimmers and getting them to their lanes three heats before their event
- Supervising your age-group tarp area
- Ensuring swimmers clean up their area at the end of the meet
Tear-Down Crew
Please begin cleanup as younger age groups finish. Tarps can be cleaned and returned, tents put away, and general cleanup completed.
Before Leaving
Please pull up tarp stakes, return age-group tarps to the volunteer bin, and wipe or shake off any debris. Clorox wipes will be available at the volunteer table.
Thank you for volunteering—we couldn't do this without you! See you Monday night.
